European Legends Walking Football Festival

From 18th to 20th of September 2017, EFDN held the European Legends Walking Football Festival, which was hosted by Vitesse Arnhem at the iconic Dutch national sporting centre Papendal.

The European Legends Walking Football Festival is the flagship event of the EFDN powered Pan European ‘European Legends Project.’

Overall, 23 Walking Football teams from all across Europe took part in the Festival. The participating partner Clubs of the European Legends Programme placed 13 teams, coming from Portugal, Belgium, England the Netherlands, Germany, Cyprus and Norway.

Additionally, 12 team from a number of other countries were in attendance, turning this festival into a truly European event.

The Walking Football Festival offered an exciting and not to be missed event programme on and off the pitch. This included cultural visits, after dinner entertainment and a fan zone during the festival.

With family activities alongside the tournament games it was set to be a festival for both, players and families.

Location

Papendal, High Performance Centre – the Netherlands.

High Performance Centre Papendal is the largest elite sports training centre in the Netherlands. The host of the European Walking Football Festival, Vitesse Arnhem has its training ground at the sporting centre Papendal.

Next to these teams from Portugal, Belgium, England the Netherlands, Germany, Cyprus and Norway a variety of other European countries were present.
