Kick off- European Legends Walking Football Festival

Today, 18th of September is the first day of the 3-day European Legends Walking Football festival.

21 teams from all across Europe are coming together to celebrate the beautiful sport of Walking Football. The tournament is talking place at the iconic Dutch sporting Centre Papendal, home of the Dutch Olympic athletes and Vitesse Arnhem, the host of the event.

The European Legends Walking Football tournament is the final crowning event of EFDN’s European Legends Programme that has been delivered over a period of 2 years by 13 EFDN member clubs and coordinated by EFDN.

The European Legends Festival provides everyone with a fantastic opportunity to bring the sport of Walking Football and the European Legends project truly to life. At Papendal, teams ranging from Norway to Portugal and from the Netherlands to Cyprus will be in attendance, giving the Festival a very vibrant, colourful and inspirational atmosphere.

EFDN sincerely hopes that throughout the Festival all teams will have the opportunity to get to know as many fellow Walking Football players as possible from different teams and countries.

We wish all participating teams the best of luck and enjoyment and hope that everyone will make new friends and return home with good memories.
